I am deeply sorry to read of Hoppy’s passing last year. I met him in 1965 when he was enrolled at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral School. He and I were in Boy Scouts together (my father was the scoutmaster of Troop 47 when he received his Eagle). The scout troop had swimming parties at his house during the summer months. Hoppy and I were tapped into the Tribe of Mic-O-Say in the summer of 1967 along with the assistant scoutmaster’s son (Ron Rembe). I ran into him down here in Florida a couple of years ago, he was working as a mechanic in a shop in Largo.
I lost touch with Hoppy after hegraduated from Central and to be honest don’t remember Rhonda at all from my high school years. I guess I’ll have to dig out my old Wakitans and try to refresh my memory.
I’ll pass the news of Hoppy’s passing on to my dad back in St. Joe when I talk to him and mom tomorrow.
Once again I am truly saddened by the loss of a man I once called my friend. God bless you all .

Leo Lavender Said,
This is to express my thanks for Dr. Hassenbusch.
I was privileged to meet him in two different M.D.Anderson surgery waiting room vigils for our friend Moira Doyle. He joined us for prayer before each. He extended Moira’s life significantly, much to our joy. He also cared for her family and friends.
He passed through life well. I am proud to have met him.
