2 Months

Posted by admin

-It has now been two months since Dad’s transition to another life. Some days have gone by quickly and others have been slower. I wanted to share an update of our family for the past two months.
On April 3rd, the memorial for Dad was held at M. D. Anderson. I believe that is could not have gone any better and it was touching to all. I have a video of the service if you would like to see it, just email me.
Followed by the Memorial, on April 5th was the Run/ Ride for the Rose. The support at this event was amazing and the ride was a very special tribute to Dad. Mom led the ride on the Trike and I rode Dad’s bike displaying a special flag in his honor.
On a sad note, my grandmother (Rhonda’s mother) has some health problems that now are requiring extensive medical care. Mom has been flying back and forth to St. Joseph, Missouri to visit and help. Grandma is doing better now and seems to have perked up a bit.
As for changes in life, Mom has purchased a new home that will better fit her needs. It is in Houston; specifically in the Meyerland area. She will not be moving immediately, but in the near future. Along with this move, I will move into my house that just a few door down the street from Mom’s new house. This will help to keep us close along with helping each other out.
Dad’s puppy dogs (Peanut and Stetson) are doing well these days. There are many times when they go looking for Dad, but I think on some levels they understand. Mom’s new house as a larger backyard which I am sure they will enjoy.
Mom’s spirits have been good as we handle the situations at hand. It is quite busy keeping up with everything, but overall she is doing well. I have been recovering from the motorcycle accident and just recently I am able to wear shoes again!

I have made progress on Dad’s book, but I am still having difficulty seeking an editor. If you know of someone who might be interested, please let me know
I will try to continue to update this monthly.
